Netball Specific Strength & Conditioning Camp
Performance Testing and Re-Testing
The Program begins with a comprehensive netball specific testing battery including a movement screen to identify potential injury risks, strength testing, vertical jump (calculated through our VALD force decks), jumping/ landing mechanics and finally, a Yo-yo test for cardiovascular fitness.
This testing battery is then repeated post the 7-week camp to compare your results.
Thursday 4:15 pm
1 x outdoor conditioning session/ week focusing on netball specific fitness, agility, acceleration and deceleration.
Sunday Approx 9-11 am
1 x indoor gym strength session with a focus on learning and nailing the fundamental movements required in the gym. Once these movements are perfected, each athlete will progress to power training with the intent to improve each athlete's rate of force development, stretch-shortening cycle, reaction time and total force production.
This graph represents the performance improvements over the 2020 6-week netball specific strength camp. The Athletes demonstrated an 80% increase in squat strength, a 45% increase in deadlift strength and a 15% increase in vertical jump height.
