Unfortunately, Injuries are a part of playing Baseball. The aggressive rotational forces, explosive efforts and hard changes of direction eventually lead to an injury of some category. The outcome of your rehabilitation can be the cornerstone of your success and longevity in the sport. It can be the difference between ending your career by retirement or being forced into it!

Here’s How it Works

Upon injury, it is required that your team manager or first aid official logs the injury with your sporting club. It is necessary on your behalf to download and fill out the RSS injury enquiry form which is located at the bottom of this web page. You will then be sent the relevant personal Injury Claim form by Baseball Australia. Follow these dot points to ensure a successful claim.

1. Take your personal injury claim information to your sporting organisation and find your allocated authority who will complete the declaration by club section. (usually club president, treasurer or secretary)

2. Book an appointment with your General practitioner and ask them to fill out  the Sports Injury Attending Physicians Report

3. Ask the doctor to Refer you to Resistance Sports Science for Exercise Science/ Physiology and Physiotherapy Services. Ask for Physiotherapists Patrick Wood or Grace Lennox and Exercise Physiologists/ Scientists, Dexter Leckie or Drew Bowman

4. Book an appointment with your nominated physiotherapist by the link accessible at the bottom of the web page

5. RSS will send you electronic invoices which you will send to your baseball insurer for your claim refund

Upon completion of your insurance claim, your chosen sports physiotherapist will deliver a report to Baseball Exercise Physiologist/ Strength and Conditioning Coach Drew Bowman or Dexter Leckie who will then lead your exercise rehab program.

Depending on the severity of the injury, you may require a multidisciplinary approach where Physiotherapy and Exercise Rehab are both required. In this scenario, our team will work together to ensure a safe and time-effective outcome for your return to sport. All Physiotherapy, Exercise Science/Physiology and Remedial Therapy consultations will be rebated by your Baseball insurance. Our staff will then send you a digital invoice which is to be lodged with your Baseball insurer.

This can be used on all services at Resistance Sports Science. Please note this is only applicable for new injuries.
